Writing Prompts: Writing Competitions

01/25/2019

Another way to find some great writing prompts is to look for writing competitions. Often their themes can provide inspiration for a story, but you can also write and enter competitions. If you win, it's a great boost to your writing career, and a chance to showcase your work.

I often search for writing competitions at the start of the year, and add the ones that appeal to me to my calendar, and these are the ones I aim to enter. I prefer the ones that have free entry (for obvious reasons) although those that charge often have bigger prizes. A word of caution though, some of the ones that charge may be money making scams, so if in doubt, check before parting with your cash.

So, this week's prompt - use the links below to identify at least one competition to enter this year. (These are all sites I use regularly, and like.)
