Resources for Writers
Websites
These are some of the websites I find helpful (in no particular order!)
Publishing... and Other forms of insanity
This site from Erica Verillo contains a wealth of information from a published writer. The sections on calls for submissions and markets are particularly useful for finding places to send your work.
This is an ezine for writers and publishers, and offers a free newsletter filled with writing tips. They also run writing competitions.
This site allows you to submit your work for other writers to read and offer constructive criticism. Before you can read your reviews, you need to read and review the works of other writers. It's a brilliant site for helping develop and hone your skills.
The website of the American writing magazine, Writer's Digest. Lots of tips, markets and an annual writing competition.
This is a brilliant tool for identifying potential markets for your work. Enter your requirements by length, genre, payment, and the Grinder will return a list of markets for you to try. It's also helpful to see the record of the authors submissions, successes and failures.
